Position Overview
The School Social Worker will provide direct support and interventions to students, help develop social-emotional learning strategies, and ensure services align with each students Individualized Education Program (IEP) and district policies.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct social-emotional and behavioral assessments to identify student needs

Develop and implement individualized plans and interventions

Provide counseling and crisis intervention services

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote student success

Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines

Provide resources and referrals to community services as needed

Promote a positive and inclusive school climate through proactive engagement and advocacy
Qualifications (Michigan Requirements)

Active SSW-310 Authorization for School Social Work or MDE School Social Worker Credential (required)

Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program

Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
